A Nigerian Twitter user has taken to the streets to school parents on parenting roles and rights on their children.

The Microblogger, @neauxna, stated that parents need to understand that their kids don’t belong to them but rather, they are on borrowed time with the children.

According to her, the best thing parents should do while parenting is to focus on helping their children become the best version of themselves and not recreating a mini version of themselves (the parents).

“Your children don’t belong to you. You’re on borrowed time with them. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to build a better human being; not to build a mini version of you and all your deflated hopes and dreams. Help them become the best them not the best you.”
