British actor Idris Elba has described Lagos as โthe most amazing city in the world,โ praising its energy and growing creative scene.
Elba spoke during an interview with ETalk TV on the red carpet at the TIFF Tribute Awards held on September 7. A video of his remarks has since gone viral on social media, drawing excitement from Nigerians.
โLagos, if you have never been there, is the most amazing city in the world. I had a great time. The talent there is incredible,โ he said.
The award-winning actor, who filmed Dust to Dreams in Nigeria, added that he left with โa wealth of incredible memories.โ
One of his standout moments was watching British singer Seal, who has Nigerian roots, perform in Lagos while switching to a Nigerian accent.
Elba, known globally for roles in Luther and *Beasts of No Nation*, has received several awards, including a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and an OBE for his services to drama. He was also listed among Timeโs 100 Most Influential People in 2016.
His glowing remarks add to the growing international spotlight on Lagos as a hub for film, music, and creativity, with Nollywood and the cityโs vibrant culture continuing to attract global stars.
