Encomiums as Nollywood actor RMD turns 61

Fans and colleagues of Nollywood veteran actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo, better known as RMD celebrate him as he turns 61 on Wednesday.

RMD, who shared the news of his birthday on his Instagram handle at midnight, expressed gratitude to family, friends, and business partners, saying to “the hands in the creative industry that have given me so much joy and opportunities to shoot my shot!”.

“This is 61 and counting! Super grateful and thankful for God’s grace upon my life. Birthdays are a chance to look back and forward and all I see is God’s grace upon the life of this shy Warri boy that said yes to life,” he stated.

In an acting career spanning more than forty decades, RMD has picked up a number of honours and starred in many movies. In 2005, he won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 12th Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2016.

Some films he featured in recently include “King of Boys: The Return of the King”, “Fine Wine”, and “Love Is War”.
