Atiku snubs Wike, picks Okowa as running mate
Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has announced Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as his running mate for the 2023 presidential election.
Okowa and his Rivers State counterpart, Nyesom Wike, had emerged as front runners to be Atiku’s running mate as the Independent National Electoral Commission deadline for parties’ submission of the list of candidates drew closer.
Atiku announced Okowa as his running in a statement released on his verified Twitter handle.
“I am delighted to announce Governor @IAOkowa as my Vice Presidential candidate. I look forward to travelling our great country together, engaging with all Nigerians and building a shared future of peace, unity, and prosperity for all. As One We Can Get It Done,” Atiku said.
