What will happen if PDP suspends me – Wike

Published

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has told members of the opposition in the Peoples Democratic Party who are pushing for his suspension to be prepared for whatever comes from it.

The Party has been thrown into turmoil since the conduct of its primary election which saw the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election.

Disappointed loyalists of the River’s State Governor had stated that against the recommendation of the Party, Atiku Abubakar had picked Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate.

Also, Wike had demanded for the resignation of the National Chairman of the Party, Iyorchia Ayu, according to him, the north cannot continue to hold vital positions within the Party structure.

While a series of reconciliation attempts by Party stakeholders had failed to address the tussle, the Rivers State Governor during a media chat in Port Harcourt on Friday dared members of the opposition within the Party to push for his suspension.

He stated that although he is not bigger than the Party, there’s no one within the Party who is capable enough to suspend him.

“Who will suspend me? What do you think is my job here?

“I’m not saying I’m bigger than the party but those who ran away from the party cannot suspend me from the party. I beg them, today, today, they should come and suspend me. Anything they see, they will take.” he stated.

He also claimed during the interview that Ayu manipulated the delegates list during the convention.

“There was nothing Ayu didn’t do. Manipulation of delegates lists during the convention.”

“A whole national chairman threatened some of the presidential aspirants at that time that if Wike wins, he was going to resign,” he said.
