Nigerian woman breaks GWR for 55-hour marathon interview
A Nigerian social media entrepreneur, Clara Kronborg, has made history by smashing the Guinness World Record for the longest interview, clocking in an impressive 55 hours and 24 seconds on average.
Her remarkable feat surpassed the previous record set by Rob Oliver from the United States, who managed 37 hours and 44 minutes in 2022.
Kronborg, originally from Onitsha, Anambra State, achieved this milestone through her YouTube talk show titled “Women’s World Show,” where she engaged in conversations with 90 individuals from diverse backgrounds, including politicians, business owners, actors, and content creators. The discussions revolved around their paths to success in various fields.
In an interview with Guinness World Records, Kronborg shared her motivation behind the record attempt, stating, “This record attempt was about bringing together diverse individuals, sharing their inspiring narratives, and forging meaningful connections on a global scale. I am committed to amplifying voices, particularly those of hardworking women, and using their stories to inspire others facing similar challenges.”
Her marathon interview took place on a docked yacht in Marbella, Spain, where she currently resides. Despite facing challenges such as heavy rainstorms that affected her voice, Kronborg persevered by staying hydrated with water. She also utilized five-minute rest breaks per hour, during which she could nap, change clothes, or attend to personal needs.
To manage the high intake of water, Kronborg resorted to wearing adult diapers throughout the attempt, even enduring menstrual cramps that coincided with the event. Despite the physical strain, she remained focused on her goal, encouraging others to pursue their passions relentlessly.
Kronborg’s achievement adds to the list of Nigerians making waves in record-breaking endeavors, including chess master Tunde Onakoya, who recently surpassed the previous record for the longest chess game. Onakoya’s feat, spanning 58 hours, showcased Nigeria’s prowess on the global stage.
