Parents of the 19-year-old who was gruesomely murdered have appealed to the Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano and the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar, to intervene and ensure that the Anambra State Police Command arrests and prosecute people behind the killing.

Recall that the deceased, Promise Nwoye who is an undergraduate of the University of Benin was murdered inside a hotel, “Akuu Hotel Abagana,” located at the boundary between Eziowelle and Abagana, a short distance to the popular Oye- Agu Market Abagana.

According to Mrs Chinyere Nwoye, the mother of the deceased, her daughter Promise was lured out from Oye-agu market area where she was undergoing computer lesson to the said hotel and wickedly strangled to death.

Mrs Nwoye added that before she died she had called her to tell her to quickly bring her ATM Pin telling her that she was at Akuu hotel.

She narrated that she quickly chartered an Okada together with a Christian brother to the hotel while crying hysterically.

She noted that when she arrived that it was the noise she made that made the hotel management listen to her as they were not ready to listen to her,

Mrs Nwoye also added that because of her incessant crying they went upstairs to one of the rooms and discovered the strangled body of her daughter.

The hotel manager added that the police are handling the matter.

Newsmen closely observed that the hotel is being patronised by all manners of strange young men who are taking advantage of security lapses in the hotel.
