The commission stated that the evacuees would arrive in Nigeria at about 5 pm on Sunday.

It tweeted,

“The flight is expected to depart at about 10:30 am and is expected to arrive in Nigeria at about 5 pm local time today Sunday 28th, June 2020.”

After their arrival in Nigeria, they are expected to proceed on a 14-day self-isolation as mandated by the Nigerian authorities.

The latest arrival brings to 2, 429 Nigerians that have been evacuated since the global lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Federal Government had set a maximum of four weeks to complete the evacuation of over four thousand Nigerians stranded in various countries.

The Presidential Taskforce (PTF) said it will evacuate 1,000 weekly.
