Buhari’s approval of new polytechnic in Ogbomoso remarkable – Soun

The Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, has described the approval of the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic in Ayede, Ogbomoso by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) as remarkable development.

Recall that the approval was contained in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Sonny Echono, and addressed to Governor Seyi Makinde.

“I write to inform Your Excellency that, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has approved the establishment of Federal Polytechnic in Ayede, Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area, Oyo State.

“Mr. President also approved a take-off grant of N2 Billion for the new Polytechnic from the funding resources of TETFund for the provision of core facilities for immediate take-off. This has been duly conveyed to TETFund for implementation,” the statement read partly

In a statement released on Wednesday, the monarch appreciated Buhari for approving a take-off grant of N2 billion for the new institution.

“On behalf of the good people of Ogbomosoland, I convey my heartfelt and sincere appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the establishment of Federal Polytechnic in Ayede, Ogbomoso with a take-off grant of N2b.

“Mr President as you know, Ogbomoso is one of the prominent and ancient towns in Nigeria and as such, your decision to site the higher institution in my domain is a good and remarkable development.

“This new polytechnic will create employment opportunities, promote human capital development and boost economic activities in Ogbomoso and environs.

“Mr President, count on our support and prayers as you steer the affairs of the country,” the monarch said.

Oba Oyewumi also commended Governor Seyi Makinde; the Minister of Youth Development and Sports, Dare Sunday and other stakeholders.
