APC governors have no hand in dissolution of NWC ― Kebbi governor
The chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, on Monday declared as false the allegation that governors of the APC were behind the dissolution of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the travails of its former national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Governor Bagudu stated this while addressing a press conference on Monday at Government House, Birnin-Kebbi, adding that the dissolution of the NWC by President Muhammadu Bihari was purely a democratic exercise.
“It was so unfortunate for people in the opposition party or any Nigerian to have attributed what happened last week that led to the dissolution of NWC as the handiwork of the APC governors,” he said.
He explained that all the APC governors voted for Comrade Adams Oshiomhole at the last national convention that brought him to power as the national chairman of the party.
The chairman of the APC governors’ forum lashed out at critics who faulted the President for holding the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party at the Presidential Villa, saying what the President did was in consonance with the Covid-19 pandemic protocol adding that since the Presidential villa has the virtual gadgets it was conducive for such a meeting to take place inside the Villa and that was what happened.
He said there was nothing cynical in hosting the meeting as political opposition parties are painting it for their selfish gains.
