Again, bandits abduct seven pupils, teacher in Katsina Islamiyya School

Suspected bandits have invaded an Islamic school at Sakkai community in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, abducting at least seven pupils and a teacher.
Eyewitnesses said the incident, which occurred on Tuesday saw the armed men shot sporadically to scare residents away before they whisked the victims to a forest.
DAILY POST reported that the assailants who attacked the school during an evening lesson are yet to contact the family members of the victims as of the time of filing this story.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isa confirmed the incident.
He said the students already closed from the lesson before they were attacked and kidnapped.
“The bandits were attacking the community before they saw those students and used the opportunity to kidnap them.
“Nine of the students were kidnapped but two of them were able to escape”, he added.
Just as witnessed in some Northern parts of the country, Katsina has witnessed several security issues recently.
Despite efforts by the Federal Government to curtail the trend, the bandits have continued to wreak havoc in many parts of the state.
