Nollywood actor and cleric Jimmy Odukoya has found love again and is set to get married.
The senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church announced his engagement on his social media page, sharing a photo of his and his fiancée’s hands with an engagement ring on one of them.
He captioned the post, “To new beginnings.”
The news set the internet abuzz, with many questioning what happened to his previous marriage.
One user, smoothchychy, wrote, “Where’s your first wife? Is this another case of polygamy?”
Another, queenmummy_greengem, wrote, “I thought he was already married with kids.”
Jimmy was previously married to Oluwakemi Sade Banjoko. The two tied the knot in London in March 2013 and had two children before their separation.
Reports claimed the couple parted ways after he took over as General Overseer of his late father’s church. Details surrounding the collapse of the marriage have not been made public.
In September 2023, Jimmy Odukoya succeeded his father, Taiwo Odukoya, as senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church after his father’s passing.
Since taking over, Pastor Jimmy has become well known for his marriage and relationship messages, which have resonated with many people online.
He once advised married women to keep their husbands happy to reduce the chances of cheating, referencing his mother, who never allowed anyone else to serve his father food.
In another message, he advised ladies not to marry people they see as having potential, but to go for people who are actively working towards something. He stressed that the person a lady wants to marry doesn’t have to be super rich but must be visibly working towards a goal.
He also called out women who didn’t want to contribute financially in a relationship, saying many women don’t have what it takes to be a true wife.
Actor Deyemi Okanlawon had once penned an appreciation note to Jimmy for being a true friend, saying if anyone asked him for a man quick to pray with others, he would point them to Jimmy Odukoya.
