Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has claimed he is in possession of what he described as a video showing how singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, was killed.
He made the fresh claim in a video he posted on social media, where he also appealed directly to President Bola Tinubu to intervene.
Fabiyi said the clip was sent to him in an an attempt to extort him.
The actor in a viral clip on Thursday said, “President Bola Tinubu, I wrote to you in May 2025 that Mohbad was murdered. Part of the video was sent to me in an apparent attempt to extort me. Your office wrote and gave a directive to the Inspector General of Police that they should investigate, harmonise, and prosecute.”
Fabiyi claimed that investigators at the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja had reviewed the case file and identified, he said, key suspects in an alleged cover-up.
He said, “As of November 2025, after the FCID in Abuja noted key suspects already complicit in the alleged cover-up, the wife of the deceased turned herself in Abuja. Now they want to cover it up. They are even asking the same suspects to write a petition against me over illegal arrests.”
Fabiyi accused some police officers of trying to intimidate him because of the evidence he claimed to hold.
He added, “This suspect wants to silence me because they want to use the video against you. I don’t know why it is wrong to be loyal to your government. I am putting my life on the line to stand by this government and to speak the truth.”
His video quickly drew reactions across social media, with many users urging him to hand the alleged evidence to investigators rather than posting emotional appeals.
Olu Olabode commented, “This is a very serious allegation. If Yomi Fabiyi truly has any evidence, the right thing is to submit it directly to the authorities, not social media.”
Rivers Trending wrote, “People are dying, and justice must be served. If Yomi’s evidence is real, the authorities must open the case fully with independent investigators.”
Another user, OkochaCFC, said, “Is President Tinubu an investigator? Share it with police and maybe release it online to force their hand.”
Others pressed him to make the clip public. One user, pizzle pizzle, said, “He should post the video online so we can judge from there.” Oyetunde added, “Post the videos if you got it.”
Some questioned his safety after recording the video by the roadside, while others accused him of chasing attention. whisperingheart wrote, “You have the video, but you can’t release it. Why?” Rickky added, “If this is clout chasing, he’d better stop.”

The latest claims add to the ongoing controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death on September 12, 2023. Investigations by the Lagos Police and a coroner’s inquest concluded that he died from a severe allergic reaction to injections given by an auxiliary nurse at his home.
The nurse, who admitted to administering Tetanus Toxoid, Paracetamol IV and Ceftriaxone IV, was named the principal suspect.
Police findings also showed that Mohbad had suffered an injury from a violent fight with a childhood friend, which was handled improperly. The coroner later ruled that the death resulted from medical negligence and ordered the prosecution of the nurse involved.
The probes also examined allegations that artists Naira Marley and Sam Larry bullied and threatened the singer before his death, based on video clips and witness statements.
Mohbad was buried the day after his death, a move that triggered public outcry and led to his body being exhumed for autopsy and toxicology tests.
