Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mary Remmy Njoku has urged people to exercise caution and spiritual discernment when praying for others, warning that some struggles may be the result of divine judgment rather than demonic attack.
In a post shared via her Instagram page, Njoku emphasized that not every delay or hardship is a battle to be fought through fasting and intercession.
She advised taking a moment to reflect before intervening spiritually, especially when prayers seem unanswered despite intense effort.
“Be careful who you pray for. Sometimes you’re trying to bless someone that God is trying to punish. You’re fasting, interceding, and nothing is shifting,” she wrote.
“Before you lose sleep, pause. There might be a reason heaven is silent. A hidden sin. A consequence. Something you don’t know and may never know.”
The filmmaker cautioned that intervening in a situation without understanding the spiritual context could place one at odds with divine justice.
“So be wise. Be discerning. Not every struggle is a battle you’re meant to fight. Not every delay is demonic. Sometimes, it’s divine judgment,” she added.
Concluding her message, Njoku offered a sobering prayer: “My prayer today is that we don’t end up standing in the way of God’s justice. Because it’s a dangerous thing to be caught in divine crossfire. Especially over sins we know nothing about. Be wise. Be discerning. Be careful.”
