LP’s Abure confident Obi’ll be declared president

Julius Abure, national chairman of the Labour Party, said that Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate, will soon be president of Nigeria by the presidential election petition tribunal.

 

Abure made the statement on Monday during a tour of the United States. He said that the LP is confident that the tribunal will overturn and nullify the victory of Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress candidate.

 

We are confident that the tribunal will see the light and declare Peter Obi the winner of the election,” Abure said. “We have a strong case and we are confident that we will win.”

 

Obi who came third in the presidential election held in February, but the Labour Party is challenging the results, alleging widespread irregularities and vote-buying. The PEPT is expected to rule on the case on or before September 16.

 

Abure said that the LP is not giving up hope and is confident that Obi will be declared president.
