The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority in Adamawa has advised Nigerians against storing petroleum products in their homes, warning that it could lead to fire disaster.
NMDPRA Operations Controller, Mr Sadiq Ibrahim, gave the advice on Monday in Yola.
He said: “Some people buy the product in excess, store it in their homes; that is dangerous.
“’A little spark might ignite fire, resulting in disaster because it is highly inflammable.
“People are buying it in excess, petrol is highly flammable, especially during this season.
“A little spark will ignite fire, so I appeal to the public to understand that it is dangerous, hence, the need for them to desist from doing so.”
Ibrahim also appealed to the marketers to be law abiding at all times.
He warned them against involvement in sharp practices such as selling petroleum products to black marketers
