We are all so blessed to know you, Adesua Etomi-Wellington says as Sola Sobowale turns 54
Nollywood actress, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, has sent a belated birthday message to her veteran colleague, Sola Sobowale.
Sobowale celebrated her 54th birthday on Boxing Day.
Adesua, in a post on Instagram on Friday, referred to Sobowale as the best screen mother after they featured as mother and daughter in Kemi Adetiba’s King of Boys.
“The Kemi to her Eniola. The Dunni to her Tin tin. Happy birthday to the bestest on-screen mother everrrrrrrrr. I hope you had a day even more amazing than you are.
“We are all so blessed to know you, to experience you and to love you. @solasobowale Tualeeeee Mama????? Love you❤❤❤????????????,” she said
For their roles in the movie, Sobowale won Best Actress award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) 2019 while Adesua picked the Best Actress in a Supporting Role award.
WuzupNigeria reports that when Sobowale was announced as the winner of the category at the event held in October there was a standing ovation and loud cheers from the crowd. The applause reigned and reigned for the actress, who dedicated the award to her children, all based in the United Kingdom (UK).
“I would like to thank AMAA for this recognition. You know, 15 years ago, I was at the very first AMAA in Bayelsa State and I came back without an award. But here I am, clutching the AMAA 15 years after,” she said then.
“I want to dedicate this award to my children. They told me that staying in UK was not for me. They asked me to come back home and continue to do that which I know how to do best.
“I’m glad that I heeded their advice and I want to especially thank Kemi Adetiba (Director of King Of Boys) for the opportunity to feature in the great movie that is ‘KOB’ and my fans for accepting me when I returned to the scene after several years off the scene. They welcomed me with an open arm and have continued to support my come back.”
