US authorities confirmed on Wednesday that its border agents discovered 38 grams of hashish that was hidden inside seashells shipped from Nigeria.
The US Customs and Border Patrol officers at Baltimore-Washington International Airport got hold of the package after agriculture specialists turned the parcel over on Sept. 30t.
According to the agency in a statement, the officers noticed small plastic baggies inside the seashells with a brown substance inside during inspection.
They then tested the substance and determined it was hashish. The package was destined for an address in Baltimore County, Maryland.
“This seizure proves once again that Customs and Border Protection is up to the task of intercepting dangerous drugs in even the most unusual of concealment methods to help keep our communities safe,” said Casey Durst, the director of field operations for CBP’s Baltimore Field Office.
