Tunisian premier cancels Italy visit after minister gets Covid-19
Tunisian Prime Minister, Hichem Mechichi on Tuesday cancelled a visit to Italy after a minister accompanying him on a European tour tested positive for the coronavirus.
Mechichi was scheduled to travel to Italy on Tuesday, after being in France since Saturday.
Finance Minister, Ali Kooli, tested positive, but the rest of the delegation tested negative, the head of the premier’s office, Moez Lidinellah Mokaddem, was quoted by the official TAP news agency as saying.
Mechichi and his delegation are scheduled to return to Tunisia.
During his visit to France, Mechichi met several officials including his French counterpart Jean Castex and Gerard Larcher, President of the Senate.
