Agency Report

Moldova said Thursday it was closing its airspace in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, while Belarus said it was shutting “part” of its airspace.

“Given the situation in the region, the Supreme Security Council has recommended that Moldova’s airspace be closed,” Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu wrote on Telegram.

He added that airspace would be closed from 12:00 pm (1000 GMT) and “all flights will be redirected to other airports”.

Belarus’s defence ministry said it was shutting “part of its airspace for civilian aircrafts.”
