Julian Nagelsmann to become Germany national team coach
Julian Nagelsmann is on the verge of being appointed coach of the German men’s national team, according to local media reports on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old is set to take over from Hansi Flick, who was sacked after a series of disappointing results, including a 4-1 friendly loss against Japan earlier in September.
Nagelsmann has been out of work since he was fired by Bayern Munich earlier this year, but he is seen as one of the most promising young coaches in the game.
He previously had impressive spells at Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig.
Nagelsmann’s appointment is expected to be confirmed in the coming days. He will have the task of leading Germany into Euro 2024, which the country is hosting.
Germany have lost four of their six matches since the World Cup last year and has also had terrible run at the Euro 2024 qualifier.
Nagelsmann will be facing the task of getting the German national team back on track.
