THE ONLY CHRISTIAN AMONG KIDNAPPED DAPCHI GIRLS! Leah Sharibu marks 15th birthday in Boko Haram custody

The only Christian among the schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram members from Government Girls’ Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, Leah Sharibu, is marking her 15th birthday today (Monday) in captivity.

This was made known on Sunday evening after the girl’s father, Sharibu Nathan, spoke with Premiumtimes.

Mr Nathan, who pleaded with the government to ensure the safe release of his daughter, thanked Nigerians, both Muslims and Christians, for their prayers and called for more supplications to ensure the release of Leah.

Wuzup Naija recalls that Nigeria woke up on February 19, 2018, to the shocking news of the abduction of 110 innocent and defenceless girls from a government-owned secondary school in Dapchi, by members of Boko Haram terrorist group.

At least 101 out of the 110 students kidnapped have been released by their abductors but the Christian girl was held back because of her religion. Five of the girls, according to those who regained freedom, died before they got to the terrorists’ camp.

Leah is the only Dapchi student that is still with the terrorist group, and it is now almost two months since the Nigerian government negotiated the release of the 105 abducted Dapchi girls.

The Federal Government secured the release a month after their abduction, but Leah who would have been the 106th girl to be freed was left behind for refusing to denounce her Christian faith.
