One dead, four injured as tanker rams into tricycle in Anambra

An accident involving a water tanker and a tricycle has left one person dead and four other people seriously injured on Monday in Anambra State.

This was confirmed by the Anambra State Sector Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, RC Kamal Musa.

In a statement issued, Musa said that the accident occurred along Onitsha-Awka Old road opposite Jodon Shopping Mall Nkpor, at about 3 pm.

Musa said that the unfortunate incident occurred as a result of excessive speeding and wrongful overtaking.

He also said that four persons who sustained serious injuries in the accident were rushed to Boromi hospital Onitsha, by FRSC rescue team.

According to him, the corpse of the victim that died was deposited at the Mogue after he was confirmed dead by the doctors in the Hospital.
