Nigeria is already hard enough, please pay staff salaries, Ogbeni Dipo calls out bosses

Popular career development expert, Dr. Dipo Awojide, aka Ogbeni Dipo, has called out employers who have made it a habit to owe staff salaries.

In a thread posted to thousands (802.4k) followers on Twitter, Dipo said that organizations should have no excuse to owe staff salaries or pay later than expected.

He added that God will judge some bosses whose aim is to buy expensive cars and taker their family on trips to Dubai.

“Nigeria is already hard enough. Please pay young people who work with you their salaries. No mind games, no emotional blackmail, no manipulation or tricks, just pay them. It’s the decent and sensible thing to do.

“There should be no excuse whatsoever for not paying salaries as at when due. Experiencing low sales due to COVID? That’s understandable. Everyone will adjust. But withholding salaries from people who have added value to you and your company will never sit right with me.

“I have never owed anyone N1 since we founded BTDT Hub in 2015. We pay early in December (we aim for 15th). We also pay early in January. We make upfront payments sometimes. It is ridiculous/wicked to not pay people who help you build wealth while also building their own life.

“Not all these OGAs who’s aim is to buy range rover and build in reserved estates at the expense of whatever or whoever. They don’t care. No one is holding these bullies accountable while their own kids and family enjoy Dubai trips and all. GOD will judge you all. AMEN,” his tweet read.
