Katsina gets N50bn loan from FG
The Federal Government has approved a loan of N50bn for Katsina State towards the financing of some major projects in the state.
This was disclosed by the state Commissioner for Budget, Faruk Jobe, on Saturday during the 2021 citizens budget sensitisation workshop held at the old Government House, Katsina.
Accoridng to Jobe, the loan which was part of the 2021 budget, will aid the construction of under-bypass at Kofar Kaoran and at Kofar Kwaya junction, amongst other ongoing and proposed projects.
Jobe added, “The ongoing projects that the loan will be utilised on include Green Economic Zone, Ajiwa waterworks, road projects, and rehabilitation of general hospitals, among others.
“Part of the loan will be used to construct under-bypass project at Kofar Kaoran and Kofar Kwaya junction.
“We experienced a shortfall of money from the Federation Account and from the Internally Generated Revenue to finance the 2021 budget.nThe N50bn loan will assist us to complete some ongoing major projects and take-off of new ones before the end of this year.”
