Millions of Facebook,WhatsApp and Intagram users in Nigeria and across the world have gathered on Twitter for an emergency meeting.
WuzupNigeria reported earlier that the three giant tech apps - all owned by Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg - has been inaccessible since 4:38pm local time and around 4:45pm BST (11:45am EST), according to online outage trackers.
An official statement from the management revealed that the giant platforms are facing some technical issues.
"We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience," FB's verified Twitter handle also corroborated the statement adding that

Four hours after FB and its sister companies went offline, this news organisation reports that WhatsApp is the top trending topic on the bird app with 2.84million tweets alongside Instagram and Facebook with 625K tweets.
Recently married Nigeria Instagram comedian, Craze Clown, commented on WhatsApp's message on Twitter asking them fix the issue
"Please hurry up coz my mom thinks you guys blocked her and she’s about broadcasting that message that says ‘...share this to all your contact or you lose your WhatsApp registration..."
Popular football club, FC Porto in Portugal wrote, "Ladies and gentlemen this is your captain speaking. Facebook, instagram and whatsapp are down. I repeat, facebook, instagram and whatsapp are down!"
Social media giant, Twitter also made a cryptic remark welcoming everyone all over the world on its platform.
The New York Times' Ryan Mac added, "Not only are Facebook's services and apps down for the public, its internal tools and communications platforms, including Workplace, are out as well.
"No one can do any work. Several people I've talked to said this is the equivalent of a "snow day" at the company."
UK based Nigerian medical doctor, Dipo Awojide, fondly known as Ogbeni Dipo teased his followers by saying, "If not that Instagram is down I wanted to do a N500K giveaway by 6:00PM. Now I have to cancel the giveaway."
Popular comedian, Debo Adebayo aka Mr Macaroni advised his followers to bill their friend who don't know how to use the bird app.
"Have your friends started begging you to teach them how to use Twitter? Bill them well ooo. Because there are many courses in this Twitter School," he said.
Meanwhile, @VarunLovesTay taunted WhatsApp bys tweeting, "We apologise for the issues some WhatsApp users are experiencing, we are working on resolving these issues. In the meantime, we recommend listening to Wildest Dreams (Taylor's Version) by Taylor Swift."
@YoGirlMarly suggested that "everybody jumping on from Facebook,WhatsApp, and Instagram are crashing twitter."
