Kano police arrest palace guards who allegedly killed maid accused of witchcraft

Kano State Police Command, on Wednesday, arrested two Kano palace guards over the alleged killing of a maid who was accused of practicing witchcraft.

She was said to be accused of the practice by one of the emir’s princesses who then ordered the palace guards to force her to confess being a witch.

According to a source, the maid persistently denied the allegation until she died from the battering.

The Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident on Wednesday and said the culprits had been arrested when he was contacted.

He disclosed that the State Commissioner, Samaila Shuaibu Dikko, has ordered a discreet investigation into the matter.
