Gunmen abduct Naval College students after hijacking 18-seater bus in Delta
An unspecified number of Naval College of Engineering students were reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen in the Sapele area of Delta State.
DailyPost reports that the students were returning from Kaduna State to Sapele when the assailants reportedly ambushed an 18-seater bus and another Sienna bus conveying students of the college.
Although it is unknown how many Naval students and officials were initially in the buses, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Kotongs Bello confirmed the incident.
Bello, however, said that all but five of the students who are still with the kidnappers inside the bush have been rescued.
“These hoodlums were intercepted at Irukpen our operatives rescued most of them.
“Out of the two buses, only five students are remaining, all others have been rescued. The command is working hard to ensure the remaining five students are also rescued unhurt,” he said.
