Is Erica’s GoFundMe account misplaced priority of Nigerians?

Is actress, Belinda Effah right when she earlier accused Nigerians of misplaced priorities?

A few hours ago, WuzupNigeria reported that a GoFundMe account created for disqualified BBNaija housemate, Erica has so far generated over six million naira.

Now many in Belinda Effah’s school of thought would say Erica’s GoFundMe account is a misplaced priority while many languish in pains and hunger.

Below is a story of a young vibrant lady who lost her life due to lack of funds as shared by her friend:

“Last month, I posted about a Friend who needed surgery. She was just 26, just started life, Young and promising, A vibrant lady with a Heart of gold.

“Anne Eze was diagnosed with Kidney failure and needed money for surgery, her Family couldn’t afford the money and her friends decided to Solicit for help from Nigerians.

“Request for help was posted for Anne on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other Social media sites begging for funds To Help Anne survive, to help Annie get back on her feet and You needed to see/ read people’s comments.

“Some were calling it a Scam, asking of Prove and after getting Prove did Nothing! Some said a prayer and that was it, some just shared the post while others cautioned us, saying we needed to protect Anne’s Privacy.

“We begged, pleaded, solicited for help, it was just 1.6million that was needed to complete the Surgery Fee, and Anne’s Friends tried to raise that money Until sadly she Passed! How heartbreaking and heart wrenching it was losing a Young girl who had just started out her life.”

This is the point where you decide if you’re a Nigerian with misplaced priorities or not.

Recall that I earlier mentioned a GoFundMe account that generated over five million naira less than 24 hours after it was set up.

Erica wasn’t sick, neither does she lack a shelter, she was just disqualified from a reality show and yet millions was raised for her.
