COVID-19: Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin Foundation donates 250m online and relief materials worth 25m to government

A popular cleric in Delta State and founder of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri, Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, has splashed Christmas gifts and cash worth about N30m on his church workers and members.

Sources said that the event, which was part of the end of the year activities of the church, “was aimed at soothing the current economic challenges on the masses.”

“The people not only deserved to be fed with the word of God, but with physical food and gifts,” Fufeyin was quoted as telling the beneficiaries.

It was gathered that the church workers were treated to cash gifts worth their two months’ salaries and given foodstuffs, while members of the congregation were also not left out of the gesture.

The cleric also canvassed government and corporate support for underprivileged Nigerians.

Our correspondent reported that most of the beneficiaries could not hide their joy as they expressed appreciation to the cleric for the surprise gifts.

Fufeyin had earlier in the year decried the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on Nigerians when he provided palliatives worth about N1bn to underprivileged members of the society in Delta State.
