A Federal High Court in Kano, under the leadership of Justice A.M. Iman, has intervened to halt the purported suspension of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, from the party.

The court’s decision followed an application filed by Ganduje seeking to uphold his fundamental right to fair hearing amidst the suspension saga.

Responding to the application, the court ordered the suspension of the implementation of Ganduje’s alleged suspension from the APC. It also restrained all respondents from enforcing or giving effect to the decision reached during the purported emergency meeting of the executive members of APC Ganduje Ward, held on April 15th in Ganduje Ward of Dawakin Tofa LGA.

The court emphasized the need to maintain the status quo ante, directing a stay on all actions related to the matter until the substantive application is heard on April 30th.

The legal battle ensued following Ganduje’s purported suspension by the Ward Executive of the Ganduje ward in Dawakin Tofa LGA, Kano State, in response to corruption allegations. However, the State Executive Council of the APC swiftly suspended the ward party executives on the same day, citing alleged anti-party activities.

Amidst these events, a Kano High Court presided over by Justice Usman Mallam Na’abba upheld the suspension by some members of the Ganduje ward Executive on Wednesday.
