See how Dele Momodu reacted to video of son who vandalized mom’s properties

Published

Nigerian journalist and publisher of Ovation International, Dele Momodu has reacted to the video making rounds online that showed a young Nigerian man, Chidera, destroying his mother’s properties after an argument.

According to the video, his mom claimed he demanded for some documents including her passport which he claimed he needed for a university program, and after she ignored him, he forcefully took her documents which she retrieved.

He subsequently began breaking things in the house and also pouring food items on the floor.

Taking to Instagram, Dele Momodu reacted to the video, stating that it is the dark side of too much freedom abroad.

According to him, rather than mock the family involved, parents should count themselves lucky to have such kids.

“This is the dark side of too much freedom abroad…

Do not mock the family in this trending video but PRAY for them and for yours. Count yourselves extremely lucky if you’ve not experienced these children of anger and complete dislocation. It is a common but unfortunate experience. The parents dare not touch him even if they can overpower him. They may be charged for assault and abuse… AFRICA, well done…
My friend just sent me this: “P21 in Dublin is the balancing statement that the boy needs which is linked to everything including admission into university which he wants to go the UCD he is mentioning. He should have been told the truth that they don’t have legal standing in Dublin not keep telling him that his passport has expired.
Its his Nigerian passport which they probably use to enter Dublin that has expired and that is not tenable for the purpose he needs it for. He is frustrated all his friends are in university and he does not understand why he can’t go. He feels they are unjust in denying him the education he is entitled to. That’s the koko of the story.”
Just received this from another friend…
“If anyone knows the family of the boy who destroyed his parents’ properties that I posted earlier today pls reach out to this organization in the United Kingdom. Thanks so much…
“Uncle , thanks for hearing me out… I have spoken to other people on the board of our organisation and we would like to offer the family some support . If you or anyone knows the family we can help them approach/deal with the issues offering our services free of charge…”
