Court arraigns Lagos barman for stealing N237,000 musical equipment
A barman, Daniel Kelechukwu, was on Monday arraigned in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing musical equipment worth N237,000.
The police charged Kelechukwu, whose address was not given with theft.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution counsel, ASP Akpan Nko, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 1,, at about 5:20p.m at the Fun City Hotel, Age-Mowo, Badagry area of Lagos State.
Nko alleged that the defendant stole one mixer engine worth N150,000 and a speaker cable wire worth N87,000.
He said that the property belonged to Prince Emmanuel Ifeayin, the proprietor.
The offence contravened the provisions of Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000, with two sureties in like sum.
Adekomaiya adjourned the case until April 26, for mention. (NAN)
