Two men in court for allegedly stealing N450,000 steel rod from Chinese company
Two men were on Tuesday arraigned in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing 16mm steel rod worth N450,000.
The police charged Abdulateef Nasiru and Abdullahi Umar, 42, whose addresses were not given, with theft and receiving stolen property.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charge.
The prosecution counsel, ASP Clément Okuoimose, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on March 28,, at 2. 20p.m at the CCECC Trade Fair Complex area of Lagos State.
Okuoimose alleged that Nasiru stole 16mm Iron rod worth N450,000 property of CCECC Limited.
He said Umar received the iron rod, knowing full well that it was stolen property.
The offence contravened the provisions of sections 287 and 328 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Fadahunsi Adefioye, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N300, 000 each, with two sureties in like sum.
Adefioye adjourned the case until April 26, for mention.
