Unarguably, the world fastest man Usain Bolt is one of the most popular Manchester United’s fans in the world.

The Jamaican sprinter is never shy to cheer on the Red Devils on his social media platforms. Sometime ago, Bolt tried to convince former United coach, Alex Fergusonthat he’s good enough to pull on the Red Devils’ strip and represent the team he supports. Unfortunately for him, the Scot did not take him up on that particular offer.

On Thursday, October 6, 2016,  in a report published by Yahoo sports, the 30-year-old revealed that it was former United’s goal scorer Van Nistelrooy that made him become the Old Trafford club supporter.

“Van Nistelrooy played for them. I was like, ‘I like this guy. He’s cool. He’s very good.’ And I just started supporting him,” Bolt said in the report.

Nistelrooy scored an incredible 150 goals in 219 appearances for uNITED, winning a Premier League and an FA Cup during that time.

To show how much he loves the Dutchman, Bolt stated that if a lesser club had signed Nistelrooy from PSV he would have ended up supporting them.

“The funny part about it is that it could’ve been any team,” Bolt joked.

“It could have been Sunderland. It could have been Newcastle.”

Funnily, it was reported that as soon as Nistelrooy left Old Trafford for Real Madrid in 2006, Bolt’s allegiances changed from Manchester to Madrid.

He was quoted as saying: “Ruud van Nistelrooy is my favourite soccer player and therefore I supported him in Manchester, but now his club is Real Madrid and they’re now my favourites because he is here,” when the forward signed for Los Blancos.
