An American professional wrestling personality, Paul Heyman, has spoken about Brock Lesnar’s potential longevity in mixed martial arts which has reportedly sparked differing opinions behind the scenes in WWE, with some individuals questioning the credibility of his assessment.
Heyman recently suggested that Lesnar could still be holding the UFC Heavyweight Championship at 49 if diverticulitis had not disrupted his MMA career. The WWE veteran’s comments highlighted how the former UFC champion’s illness affected his fighting journey and potentially prevented him from achieving even more inside the Octagon.
However, the suggestion that Lesnar could remain at the summit of the UFC heavyweight division at his current age has reportedly not convinced everyone within WWE.
According to Fightful Select, several WWE personalities have privately shared their reactions to Heyman’s comments, with some expressing doubts about whether his assessment was realistic. Rather than viewing the statement as a straightforward evaluation of Lesnar’s fighting abilities, certain individuals reportedly interpreted it as part of Heyman’s usual promotional approach.
One source described Heyman as being in “promoter mode,” suggesting that his comments were intended to elevate Lesnar’s reputation rather than offer a realistic assessment of how he would fare against today’s UFC heavyweight competitors.
Although Lesnar remains one of the most accomplished crossover athletes in combat sports, Heyman’s hypothetical claim has clearly generated different reactions among WWE personnel.
For now, the comments remain a point of discussion, particularly regarding how much further Lesnar’s MMA career might have progressed had health issues not interrupted his time in the sport.
