The African Action Congress has raised concerns over an alleged attack on its 2027 presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, and members of his campaign team in Ekiti State.

According to The PUNCH, the party disclosed the development on Friday, October 30, 2026, claiming that Sowore’s whereabouts were unknown following the incident.

The party’s campaign organisation said the alleged attack occurred around 1 p.m. during political activities in the state.

The campaign urged the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services and other relevant authorities to establish Sowore’s whereabouts and ensure his safety.

“The authorities must not wait for a tragedy before taking preventive action,” the statement said.

The party also condemned violence and intimidation against political candidates and their supporters.

Sowore’s campaign alleges possible abduction

In a separate message published on Sowore’s official X account, the campaign alleged that armed individuals had kidnapped the presidential candidate.
