Nigerian winger, Zadok Yohanna, has emerged as one of the most sought-after young talents ahead of the summer transfer window, with Chelsea becoming the latest Premier League club to express strong interest in the AIK attacker.

The London side have entered a growing list of admirers that already includes Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion, setting the stage for a competitive battle over the teenager’s future.

Yohanna’s rise has been remarkable since his move from Nigerian academy outfit Ikon Allah FA to Swedish powerhouse AIK last year. The youngster has quickly established himself in the Allsvenskan, attracting attention from scouts across England with a string of impressive performances.

Despite AIK’s inconsistent start to the campaign, Yohanna has been a standout performer. The versatile forward has registered five goals and four assists, showcasing his pace, attacking directness, and ability to operate both on the wing and in central attacking positions.

According to transfer specialist Florian Plettenberg, Chelsea have now joined the pursuit of the Nigerian prospect. The Blues are reportedly keen to add more emerging talents to their ranks and regard Yohanna as a player capable of developing into a key asset in the future.

Chelsea’s interest adds further competition to an already intense chase, with both Newcastle and Brighton having tracked the youngster’s development for an extended period.

While the Stamford Bridge club are the newest entrants in the race, Brighton are understood to be leading the pursuit at this stage. Reports indicate that the Seagulls have reached a verbal agreement with Yohanna’s representatives and have opened discussions with AIK regarding a potential transfer.

Brighton’s recruitment strategy has earned widespread praise for identifying and developing promising young players, and Yohanna is believed to fit the profile the club has successfully targeted in recent years.

However, Newcastle remain firmly in contention. The Magpies are said to have improved their offer in a bid to surpass Brighton and secure the Nigerian’s signature, with their proposal reportedly viewed as the strongest currently under consideration.

Chelsea’s involvement could still influence the outcome. The six-time English champions have consistently invested in youth prospects and are expected to present their vision to Yohanna before any final decision is made.

For now, no formal agreement has been reached with AIK. Although the Nigerian remains tied to the Swedish club until December 2029, increasing interest from multiple Premier League sides suggests a summer departure is becoming an increasingly realistic possibility.
