Popular singer Tiwa Savage has shared a surprising detail about her love life, revealing that she has never ended a relationship because of cheating.
Speaking on the Receipts Podcast on Spotify, Tiwa admitted that infidelity is not a dealbreaker for her in relationships.
“I’ve been cheated on before. I found out and forgave every time,” she said. “Every man I’ve ever been with has cheated, and I’ve never left them because of it. I’ve left for other reasons, but not because they cheated. Cheating is not my hill.”
While Tiwa may forgive infidelity, she emphasized that the lies and disrespect that often come with it are harder to accept.
“What hurts is the lies about it though. Maybe other people had known and then I kind of felt stupid about it, or they’ve known for a long time, or if it’s close to home. The disrespect of it is why I could leave, but the actual act of it? I’ve never left a man because of it,” she explained.
The singer revealed that other issues like drug abuse, emotional abuse, ghosting, stealing, and financial problems have caused her to leave relationships in the past.
Tiwa also reflected on how cheating has been a recurring issue throughout history. She said, “I know you say it’s bad that we’ve gotten to a point where cheating isn’t a deal-breaker. But I feel like we’ve always been here, even back in the day, even going back to the Bible and history.”
