Police rescue four-year-old kidnapped by cousin in Kano

The Kano State Police Command has rescued a four-year-old boy named Muhammad Jamilu, who was kidnapped by his cousin and two other men.

The rescue operation was led by CSP Kabiru Kangiwa and his team.

According to SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, the boy was taken from Sharada quarters and held in Gwarzo town. The kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of N10 million, but after negotiations, N300,000 was paid.

SP Kiyawa said, “On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Salman Dogo Garba, directed that the victim be rescued and the culprit(s) be trailed and arrested.”

Detectives arrested three suspects: Hisbullahi Salisu, 30, Hassan Ali Rabiu, 28, and Hassan Aliyu, 22. Salisu, the principal suspect, admitted to kidnapping his cousin with the help of the other two men.

The boy was rescued unharmed and has been reunited with his parents after a medical check-up at Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano. SP Kiyawa praised the surveillance team for their quick and professional response.
