BUA Cement donates N12m to families of Sokoto crash victims

BUA Cement has donated N12 million to the families of eight people killed in a road accident along the Kajiji–Tambuwal road in Sokoto State.

The company gave N1.5 million to each of the bereaved families as financial support after the crash, which reportedly involved a commercial minibus carrying 13 passengers and a BUA Cement truck.

Eight people, including a child, reportedly died in the accident.

The company’s management visited the affected families in Tambuwal to deliver the assistance, accompanied by the District Head of Tambuwal, Alhaji Ahmad Dahiru, and the Chairman of Tambuwal Local Government Area, Hon. Abba Shehu Tambuwal.

The traditional ruler and the council chairman praised the donation, describing it as a significant show of compassion and support for the bereaved families.

The two leaders thanked BUA Cement for giving the financial assistance despite reports that the company’s truck was not responsible for the accident.

They said the gesture showed the importance of corporate social responsibility and urged other organisations to support communities affected by tragedies.

The leaders also noted that although the financial assistance could not replace the lives lost, it could help ease some of the immediate financial difficulties facing the families.

They prayed for Allah to reward the company for its generosity, grant eternal rest to the deceased and give their families the strength and patience to bear their losses.

The donation comes as the affected households grapple with the loss of their loved ones after the fatal crash.

The intervention also highlighted the role of collaboration between businesses, traditional institutions and local government authorities in supporting families affected by emergencies and other tragedies.
