Adeleke dismisses flier welcoming Remi Tinubu by second wife as fake
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has dismissed fliers allegedly attributed to his second wife, Ngozi Adeleke, welcoming Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as fake.
Adeleke clarified that there is no confusion regarding the hosting of the First Lady, emphasizing that the office of his first wife, Titilola Adeleke, is officially prepared to receive Senator Oluremi in Osun State.
Last weekend, banners and posters from both wives of the governor emerged in the state, with each purportedly welcoming Senator Oluremi to inaugurate the construction of an Alternative High School for Girls in the state capital.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor affirmed that Titilola Adeleke would be hosting the President’s wife in the state.
“The flier circulating purportedly from the Office of Erelu Ngozi Adeleke, the wife of the State Governor, is fake news, and the person behind it was nabbed and questioned last night,” the statement read.
Adeleke stressed that the alleged flier was never authorized by Erelu Ngozi Adeleke and was disseminated by individuals aiming to sow discord and create confusion.
“I am elated to host our dear First Lady and my old colleague at the Senate. Our people must troop out to welcome her. She deserves a rousing welcome for endorsing Osun as the location for the alternative school for girls,” Adeleke added.
