The corpse of a yet to be identified young man was on Tuesday photographed at Wilkie Street by White House – Calabar, after suspected rival cult members gunned him down.
The victim, who is suspected to be a cultist was reportedly shot dead by rival gang members who also amputated his hand for an unknown purpose.
The supremacy battle which had lingered on for a long time now is said to be between the Vikings Confraternity and another group. Bloody clash like this always leads to loss of lives as members of both sides hunt and kill themselves at will.
Reports said the renewed cult war in Calabar South of Cross River State also led to the deaths of two persons on Sunday afternoon after they were shot dead by rival gang members.
The state’s police command spokesman, Ms Irene Ugbo, said one person had been arrested, adding that officers are on the trail of the other killers.
