UNN cancels 2023/2024 post-UTME due to economic crisis
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, has canceled its 2023/2024 Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination due to the current economic crisis in Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Friday, the university’s Registrar, Dr. C. Nnebedum, said the decision was taken after considering the prevailing uncertainties and logistical implications of traveling to Enugu State for the exam.
“The reconsideration by the Management to waive the Post-UTME Screening Test for the 2023/2024 Academic Session was occasioned by the prevailing uncertainties and logistical implications of travelling down from various parts of the country at this challenging time,” the statement said.
Instead of the post-UTME exam, the university will now assess prospective candidates’ verified JAMB UTME, O’Level, and Direct Entry results.
“Other details on the Screening on O’ Level and Direct Entry registration results at the UNN portal, as already published on our Website, remain as scheduled” it further stated.
The statement also said any candidate who fails to upload their verified O’Level results at JAMB CAPS in record time will not be considered for admission.
