Ooperatives of the So-Safe Corps in Ogun State have arrested a 20-year-old man, Adesanya Rasheed, for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s nine-year-old daughter (name with held).
The Corps Director of Information and Public Relations explained that the suspect was arrested following a compliant by the victim’s parents at the State Headquarter of the Corps in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Yusuf said the victim’s parents said the suspect who is their co-tenant carried out the act on Monday.
He further narrated that the parents found out about the act when they saw blood flowing profusely from their daughter’s genitalia.
The Corps spokesman said upon receipt of the complaint, the Corps Commandant, Soji Ganzallo ordered the arrest of the suspect.
According to Gonzallo, it will serve as a deterrent to others who may have the intent to commit such an act and those who are specialist in doing such for ritual purposes.
He noted that the suspect has been transferred to the Police in Ibara Divisional Police Headquarters.
Adding that the victim has been handed over to the police to provide the necessary information needed to establish the case for further investigation and likely prosecution.
