Bandits abduct Zamfara Assembly Speaker’s father, stepmother, five others
Unknown gunmen suspected to be armed bandits have abducted the father and stepmother of Nasiru Muazu Magarya, the Speaker of Zamfara State House of Assembly.
The Speaker’s uncle and four other family members were also kidnapped during the bandits’ invasion.
A resident of the state, Yusuf Anka who confirmed the abduction, further disclosed that it happened on Wednesday evening at Magarya, Zurmi Local Government of the state.
The Magarya community had been attacked several times in recent times with reports that the bandits killed residents indiscriminately and carted away their cows and livestock.
When contacted, State Police Spokesman, Muhammad Shehu said that he would release a press statement on the abduction.
