Comedian Chidi Uzoma aka Baba De Baba has weighed into the pastors’ sacking controversy that has got social media users bantering nonstop, stating that “any pastor who cannot win rich souls should be fired”.
WuzupNigeria had reported that a pastor, Peter Godwin, had claimed he and 40 other pastors were sacked by Bishop Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, aka Winners Chapel Worldwide because they were not generating enough income from their branches.
While the news sparked major reactions among social media users, Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of the church stated that the pastors were fired because they were unfruitful and blatant failures.
This led to more reactions from some Nigerians who questioned the system at Winners’ Chapel while others stated the church was within its rights to sack the pastors.
Baba De Baba, reacting to their sacking stated that the church in Nigeria is a revenue-making body and anyone found lagging should most certainly be fired.
“Whether you believe it or not, the church in Nigeria is business and any pastor who cannot win rich souls should be fired,” he said.
