Nigerian street rapper Zlatan Ibile has revealed that he will legalize weed in Nigeria if he’s elected as president.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Pidgin, Zlatan whose real name is Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael opened up on his struggles as an upcoming artist.
Asked what he will do if elected the president of Nigeria, he said: “I will legalise [weed] so that I will have [weed] farm in Nigeria because people make plenty of money from it in a lot of countries and it’s not really that big of a deal like we perceive it.”
He also said that “I will embezzle money like our president and governors. I will also do basic things for the country but will embezzle some money and leave the country.”
As an upcoming artist, Zlatan revealed that “they don’t allow us to perform in shows. Even after we submit CDs, DJ begins to find our CDs when it’s our time to perform,” adding that sometimes, “after the first chorus, DJ scratches and says time up.”
