The lifeless body of a two-day-old baby girl who was stabbed over 100 times with a screwdriver was discovered after it was dumped beside a temple in India.
According to Mirror UK, the baby wrapped in blankets next to the temple in Bhopal.
Her injuries were so severe that officials first thought the newborn had been attacked by a wild animal after being left at the temple before an autopsy revealed her wounds had been made by a screwdriver.
Officers say they think the tot was born at a house before being stabbed to death.
The infant has yet to be identified and police have launched a murder inquiry, the Times of India reports, and officers are searching through CCTV footage to try and find the killer.
