Published

The current Bundesliga leaders, Bayer Leverkusen, demonstrated their dominance against champions Bayern Munich with a decisive 3-0 victory on Saturday.

The win propels Leverkusen five points clear at the top of the league standings, firmly positioning them as frontrunners in the title race.

In a match where Bayern Munich struggled to find their rhythm, Leverkusen took control early on when Josip Stanisic, on loan from Bayern, found the net in the 16th minute.

Despite Bayern managing only one shot on target throughout the 90 minutes, Leverkusen continued to press forward.

Alejandro Grimaldo, the Spain international, extended Leverkusen’s lead with another goal just five minutes into the second half.

Jeremie Frimpong sealed the victory for Leverkusen with a goal in stoppage time, extending their unbeaten streak to 31 matches across all competitions this season.

With this crucial win, Leverkusen now sits atop the Bundesliga with 55 points.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich, aiming for their 12th consecutive league title, remains in second place with 50 points, trailing behind their determined rivals.
